The Augusta GA Health Care System is seeking a qualified and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Department team. This advanced practice provider will deliver timely, patient-centered care under the supervision of board-certified emergency physicians.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, experience in high-acuity environments, and a commitment to serving our nation's Veterans with excellence.

Credentialing & Privileging Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, experience in high-acuity environments, and a commitment to serving our nation's Veterans with excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
- Perform minor procedures within the scope of licensure, including laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians on complex or high-risk cases.
- Document clinical encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system in compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, peer review, and compliance initiatives.
General Requirements (Both NP and PA):
- Minimum of five (5) years of emergency department experience strongly preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Active and unrestricted NP license in any U.S. state or territory.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (emergency medicine specialty preferred).
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited PA program.
- Active and unrestricted PA license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Certification by the NationalCommissiononCertificationofPhysicianAssistants(NCCPA).
Credentialing & Privileging Requirements
- Licensure, certification, and clinical competencies must be verified through the VetPro system.
- Completion of a Focused Provider Practice Evaluation (FPPE) at the start of employment.
- Ongoing ProviderPracticeEvaluation(OPPE)conducted quarterly.
