Job Summary
The Trauma Nurse Practitioner (TNP) provides direct patient care services while under the supervision of the Trauma Surgery supervising physician. Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, prescribes appropriate interventions and medication, coordinates the care and discharge of patients and provides direct patient care services.
Pay Range
Minimum $147,514 Midpoint $195,458 Maximum $243,402
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
* Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Emergency Department or ICU setting.
* Preferred: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center. Experience as a Trauma Nurse Practitioner in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center.
Education
* Required: Master's degree in Nursing. Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with certification as an Acute Care, Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in California.
Specialized Skills
* Required: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.
Licensure
* Required: Nurse Practitioner License; Registered Nurse (RN) - CA; Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) - must be obtain within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.
