Responsibilities
Advanced knowledge of psychiatric and general nursing care concepts and methodologies and skills in their implementation; basic teaching or training skills; skills in analysis, evaluation, and interpretation, organization, prioritization, and time management skills; sound written and oral communication skills; adaptability and flexibility; track record as team player; clinical evaluation and intervention skills, including crisis management; detail-oriented, balanced with ability to see whole clinical picture and organizational picture and make sound clinical and administrative judgments and decisions; independence; working knowledge of, and skills in maintaining therapeutic milieu. Current licensure to practice and prescribe as Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
- What will you do as a Nurse Practitioner for Provo Canyon School?
Provide general medical care, assessments, evaluation and treatment of patients in accordance with nurse practitioner practice act.
Perform physical examination and/or preventive health measures within established nurse practitioner guidelines to assess and evaluate patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Take care of all H&Ps and interventions in a timely manner according to regulatory guidelines. Coordinate with the Medical Director to ensure that the quality of medical services is of the highest caliber.
Provide competent medical physician back-up as required by Nurse Practice Act.
Consult with physicians, nursing, and other health professionals as needed to assure holistic approach and coordination of care and case management.
Recommend, order, and prescribe treatments such as medication, therapy, and related procedures, and make referrals as needed.
Maintain and update patient charts, records, and information according to facility guidelines and policy.
Participate in Infection Control committee meetings monthly.
