Description:
At California Premier Pain Clinics, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, is responsible for the care, assessment and medical management of patients seen in the Center for Pain Management. This includes, but is not limited to, rechecks, medication refills, basic limited exams, diagnostic test orders, referrals and establishes/confirms diagnosis. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant prescribes medications, instructs patients about medical conditions, medications and treatment. Provides continuity for patients seen by a Center for Pain Management physician. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant may provide telephone guidance to patients. Care is provided in accordance with department policy, procedure and guidelines through the use of standardized procedures and under the direction of the supervising physician and/or Medical Director.

Requirements
- Current California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Board Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
- Current California licensure as an ANA Nurse Practitioner.
- Current AHA or equivalent certification in Healthcare Provider BLS.
- Maintains a current Furnishing Number for medications.
- Maintains a current DEA license for schedule 2 drugs and above or can achieve within 60 days of hire.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant training program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current California PA license from the California Medical Board Physician Assistant Examining Committee.
- Perform joint injections.
