Position Objective
CPTC seeks a dynamic and dedicated Nursing Instructor to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals through engaging and supportive instruction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a drive to continuously innovate within the field of nursing education.
Clover Park Technical College offers a permanent base salary of $82, 470. Additionally, if you have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a temporary stipend will be added to your base, making your temporary annual base salary $108, 035. If you have a Master's degree and above, a temporary stipend will be added to your base, making the temporary annua base salary $116, 282. These stipends are subject to change given that the temporary stipends are exclusively contingent upon Washington State funding appropriated to the College by HB2158. The Permanent Base Salary is eligible for cost-of-living adjustments (COLA). The Temporary Annual Base Salaries and temporary stipend are not eligible for COLA's.

Duty: Develop, implement and evaluate nursing curriculum for classroom, lab and/or clinical instruction.
Tasks include:
- Develop, revise and implement course curriculum including selecting, guiding, and evaluating student learning activities.
- Provide student instruction utilizing a variety of teaching techniques to prepare students for licensure and employment.
- Utilizing an EDI lens, create learning opportunities and instructional strategies for the courses taught.
- Develop criteria for the selection and evaluation of clinical and practice experience in clinical practice setting addressing the safety and needs for students to achieve the program outcomes and course objectives.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of competence and mutual respect with students.
- Model nursing processes and employability skills.
- Maintain accurate student and other records.
- Maintain a safe environment through instruction, policy, and continuous evaluation of the learning environment.
- Maintain current licenses and credentials required for certification and tenure purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Duty: Evaluate and assess student learning, course, and program outcomes
Tasks include:
- Develop and/or implement competency assessments, which are applicable to the course and program outcomes.
- Establish clearly defined instructional and performance objectives in course syllabi.
- Assess and provide student learning feedback.
- Submit student grades in a timely manner.
- Participate in evaluation of the program and program outcomes.
- Participate as a member of the team by maintaining the systematic plan of evaluation and other items needed to maintain accreditation
Tasks include:
- Participate as an active member of the nursing team and evaluation committee to create, implement and modify curriculum as required to meet learning outcomes.
- Promote the Nursing programs and Clover Park Technical College.
- Participate in community, program and college events including CPTC graduation ceremony.
- Serve as an active member on college committees and/or workgroups.
- Attend staff meetings, division meetings, and program-related meetings.
- Participate in shared governance
Duty: Perform support functions for the Nursing Program and the College.
Tasks include:
- Assist students enrolled in the nursing program by supporting, advising and/or referring students as appropriate.
- Provide scheduled office hours for student advising.
- Assist with student recruitment and retention.
- Provide and maintain program information and communication with the college community.
- Attend and conduct program information sessions
Duty: Other Duties
Tasks include:
- Outreach/Coordination with community partners & professional/technical advising boards
- Participate in the maintenance and improvement of accreditation and accreditation processes for the School of Nursing and the governing institution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education or a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education and a graduate degree in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education and be enrolled in a graduate degree program in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university. OR Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education and have a plan to enroll in a graduate degree program in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university within two years of hire.
- Current, active, unencumbered Washington State Registered Nurse License.
- Proficient in computer skills including Windows, MS office and other technology.
- Two years of recent bedside experience within the last five years.
