Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Conduct routine gynecological exams (Pap smears, breast, and pelvic exams).
- Provide prenatal care, including check-ups, ultrasounds, and patient education on pregnancy.
- Manage gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, menopause, and infections.
- Offer family planning services, including contraceptive counseling and procedures (IUDs, Nexplanon).
- Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other reproductive health concerns.
- Counsel and manage patients experiencing infertility and other reproductive challenges.
Procedures:
- Colposcopy: Perform cervical, vaginal, and vulvar exams with biopsies if needed.
- Endometrial Biopsy: Obtain uterine tissue samples for diagnostics.
- Hysteroscopy: Conduct uterine examinations for polyps, fibroids, or other concerns.
- LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure): Remove abnormal cervical tissue.
- Dilation and Curettage (D&C): Diagnose or treat uterine conditions.
- Nexplanon and IUD Insertions/Removals: Provide long-term contraceptive solutions.
- Cryotherapy: Treat abnormal cervical cells using freezing techniques.
- Bartholin's Cyst Treatment: Perform incision and drainage or marsupialization.
- Ultrasound Imaging: Perform and interpret both gynecological and obstetric ultrasounds.
- Pessary Fitting: Manage pessary devices for pelvic organ prolapse or incontinence.
- Vulvar Biopsy: Conduct biopsies of vulvar tissue for diagnosis.
- Hysterosalpingography (HSG): Assess uterine cavity and fallopian tube patency.
Patient Education & Counseling:
- Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, pregnancy, and menopause.
- Provide emotional support and counseling for fertility issues and gynecological conditions.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, adhering to clinic policies.
- Stay updated with continuing medical education (CME) and advancements in OB/GYN practices.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid state medical license.
- Proven experience in providing OB/GYN care.
- Proficiency in performing a wide range of outpatient OB/GYN procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing complex gynecological conditions.
