Job Description
Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Specialty: Inpatient Rehab
Job Duration: 24 months
Shift: Day - 8x5 - 9 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care hospital setting preferred
License: MA Occupational Therapist Licensure
Certifications: CPR Certification (AHA BLS Healthcare Provider)
Must-Have: Familiarity with the acute care hospital setting, excellent patient handling skills, and strong communication abilities.
Job Description:
- Work Monday to Friday, with no weekends and no major holidays.
- Cover a department need for a specified duration.
- Manage a patient roster of 8-15 patients and typically see between 6-7 patients per shift, with a goal productivity of 5.2 hours in an 8-hour day.
- Provide coverage throughout inpatient floors, working with patients ranging from birth to elderly age with various impairments, including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical diagnoses.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and be self-directed, flexible, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Be comfortable and competent working with a diverse patient population and a wide variety of patient diagnoses.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members such as nursing, medical doctors, and case management.
- Preferred experience includes working with patients in a hospital setting, ICU experience, familiarity with diverse patient populations, and experience with EPIC documentation.
- Wear dark gray scrubs as part of the uniform.
