Position Overview

The full performance level class works under direction of the Nurse Manager requires thorough knowledge of occupation of occupational therapy requiring considerable knowledge of application of occupational therapy techniques; in order to assess clients/consumers' functioning and provide and coordinate occupational therapy group or individual treatment to clients/consumers to improve &/or restore performance of necessary physical, psychosocial &/or developmental functions, compensate for dysfunction &/or minimize limitations. The Occupation Therapist classification supervises assigned staff.
Summary of Job Duties

Provides a continuum of occupational therapy services delivery from consultative to hands on at primary and alternative settings (day program). Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team to determine priority needs for individuals. Establishes caseload based on fine & oral motor & sensory-motor and adaptive equipment needs. Provides & monitors an individualized habilitation plan to meet the fine & oral motor & sensory-motor & adaptive equipment needs for each individual on caseload. Charts daily interactions and prepares evaluation information from initial evaluations or weekly contact for development of the IHP. Provides therapy assessments upon referrals. Participates in IHP conferences as needed.

Provides occupational therapy summary reports for residents according to the transition process. Documents evaluations, observations & assessments of client/consumer performance; records treatment plans & revisions; requisitions supplies & equipment; maintains records; keeps abreast of current knowledge relevant to occupational therapy through reading & attending in-service & mandated training; attends staff meetings.

Recommends adaptive equipment, materials, and activities to foster further development of IHP'S & to facilitate the caring of the individual in various settings.
Performs other duties as required by State of Ohio Occupational therapist classification.

Will supervise assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Current State of Ohio Occupational Therapist License pursuant to Section 4755.02 of Revised Code. One (1) year experience with persons with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. BS Degree Occupational Therapy.
Must have valid Ohio Driver's License with acceptable driving record and show proof of insurance.
Supplemental Information

Standard First Aid certification must be completed during initial probationary period. Biennial renewal of licensure as occupational therapist. Ohio Occupational Therapist License must be maintained.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.

Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
