Description of the role:

University Home Care is seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Detroit, MI area. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work directly with patients to help them regain and improve their ability to perform everyday activities. You will be responsible for assessing the patient's needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote independence and enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine the level of impairment and functional limitations of patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs
  • Provide hands-on therapy to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and range of motion
  • Teach patients new methods and techniques to compensate for limitations and achieve maximum independence
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in occupational therapy techniques and incorporate evidence-based practices into treatment plans

Requirements:
  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy
  • Strong knowledge of relevant therapy techniques and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
