Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP)

As the Nurse Practitioner in the Oncology Department at Gunnison Valley Health, you'll provide direct patient care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment . Requirements:

To be seriously considered for this role, you'll need to have:

  • Education - Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Experience - 5 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
  • Licenses/Certifications - Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado. Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP, FNP or equivalent)


Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations, ongoing management, and supportive care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, infusion staff and the broader care team
  • Partner with the Oncologist who will offer oversight and guidance
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with Oncologist
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and supportive care regimens.
  • Provide oversight and medical support for patients receiving infusions, including addressing acute reactions, symptom management, and dose adjustment
  • Educating patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, symptom management and prognosis


Physical Requirements:

Occasionally (1-33%) - Sitting, crouching, stooping

Frequently (34 - 66%) - Standing, walking, change position, reach, reach across midline, handling, pinching, stairs, lifting (0 - 20lbs), carrying (0-20 lbs), pushing/pulling (20-50 lbs)

Continuously (67 - 100%) - must be able to hear clearly with assistance, must be able to see with corrective eyewear

Compensation: $53.00 - $70.23/hour, depending on experience.
