Department of Surgery - Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, UT Health San Antonio, are recruiting for a full-time faculty physician in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Qualified individuals will have an MD, DO or equivalent degree. Candidates should have completed an approved Vascular Surgery fellowship or residency and must be board eligible in Vascular Surgery. Training in endovascular techniques is required.
The division is a busy elective group practice that offers comprehensive vascular surgery services to South Texas and is the regional referral center for both adult and pediatric vascular surgery. The practice covers the entire spectrum of vascular medicine, vascular imaging, and open / endovascular surgery with a strong focus on patient experience and clinical quality outcomes. Faculty operate at University Hospital, which is a Level 1 trauma center with a large practice consisting of PAD/CLTI, dialysis access, complex aortic pathology, and trauma. Faculty will also operate at our new UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital in the South Texas Medical Center and at multiple hospital systems in town providing a broad spectrum of vascular surgery services. The practice provides midlevel support and has access to standard hybrid operating rooms and interventional suites. Faculty participate in medical student, resident and/or fellow education and training at all locations.
In South Texas, the division provides advanced aortic care, operates a large limb salvage and dialysis practice, participates in stroke programs, is engaged in emergency and trauma vascular surgery and operates programs of excellence in spine exposure, thoracic outlet syndrome, acute aortic emergencies, and venous and lymphatic disease. The division actively collaborates with Joint Base San Antonio in clinical, educational and research endeavors and with University of Texas San Antonio in educational and research arenas.
