TheAgricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications Program (ALEC) at theUniversity of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) seeks to fill two open rank[Assistant/Associate/Full] tenure-track Professor positions in the areasbroadly defined as organizational and community leadership as well as agriculturaland nonformal education. Capitalizing on recent successes in fundraisingfor a global center for food and agricultural communications as well as recentawards to develop a robust series of graduate certificates in agricultural andExtension education, teacher development, leadership development and food andagricultural communications, the ALEC program is growing and poised to rise to astatus of national prominence and we seek highly motivated scholars andeducators to join our team.

Weseek outstanding scholars in two broadly defined areas. This first is focusedon leadership studies, leadership development, and leadership education within agriculturaland food systems contexts. The second is focused on agricultural, extension andnonformal education and program development.
Inaddition, successful applicants with qualifications to hold the full Professortitle and have experience demonstrated potential in providing administrativeleadership in academic contexts, a record of scholarly accomplishment,experience in instruction demonstrating a commitment to student success andsustained achievement, experience in managing budgets and administrative experiencein leadership, education or communications programs may be eligible for anadministrative appointment as Director of ALEC.

Qualification: Candidates must have a PhD in agricultural andfood systems leadership, leadership education, agricultural and food systemseducation, adult and nonformal education; or other related fields in the socialsciences. Qualified candidates will be expected to create or sustain aproductive line of research, scholarship, and funding; teach undergraduate andgraduate courses and demonstrate passion and interest in innovative learningdelivery in either: community and organizational leadership, or agriculturaland extension or nonformal education. Candidateswill be expected to develop and maintain a world class research program intheir respective disciplinary expertise and teach courses related to either diversityin leadership, ethics of leadership, and other related areas or adult andnonformal education, food and agricultural systems teacher education, andformal and nonformal educator development.

Salary andAppointment: Thesepositions are full-time (100%, 9-month academic service year) tenure or tenuretrack appointments. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualificationsand experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salaryrange for this position is $80,000-$95,000 at the Assistant Professor level,$90,000 - $105,000 at the Associate Professor level, and $105,000 - $120,000 atthe Full Professor level. The initial appointment for the leadership-focusedrole is expected to be 45% research, 45% teaching, and 10% academicleadership/service and 30% Extension, 30% Research, 30% Teaching and 10%academic leadership/service for the Extension role.

Start Date: The anticipated starting date for thesepositions is August 16, 2025 or as soon as possible after closing.
