Responsibilities
Florida State University College of Medicine (FSU COM) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of the Tallahassee Regional Campus (Campus Dean). The position offers the opportunity to assist in preparing physicians and physician assistants for practice in the 21st century.
This is an administrative, full-time faculty position to direct the College's clinical medical education program in Tallahassee and surrounding counties. The Campus Dean will serve at the pleasure of the Dean of the College of Medicine, under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean for Regional Campuses.
This position is Non-Tenured and Non-Tenure earning.
The Campus Dean has the responsibility to identify, train and supervise Clerkship Directors and faculty who are responsible for the education of third- and fourth-year medical students and second-year Physician Assistant students. Duties include administration of the Tallahassee Regional Campus and directing and coordinating all personnel, facilities, and instructional programs of the COM located at that site. Administrative duties include budget management, fundraising, and committee assignments. The Campus Dean serves as the chair of the regional campus community advisory board and represents the COM within the local community, developing and maintaining effective community collaborations to optimize the medical education program.

Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of five years of clinical practice and administrative experience.
- Must possess, at time of hire, a valid Florida license to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458 or 459, Florida Statutes.
- Board certification in a medical specialty.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, scholarly work, and service.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical education, especially with clinical education and research.
- Familiarity with the Tallahassee medical community and local clinical partners.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within academic medicine.
