The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.

- The new faculty member will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, independent, externally funded research program and contribute to graduate student education and medical school teaching.
- The Department offers outstanding research and graduate training environments and has added eight tenure-track faculty members over the past several years.
- Established research strengths in the department revolve around cell signaling in the context of physiology and disease and include: calcium signaling, extracellular matrix and cell adhesion signaling, G protein-coupled receptor pharmacology and signaling, and ion channel structure and function.
- Department faculty research programs use pharmacological and physiological approaches/analyses to address significant unresolved problems in health and disease.
- Applicants with research interests in all areas in pharmacology and physiology are encouraged to apply.
- Seeking a creative, enthusiastic scientist with clear potential.
- Looking to secure extramural funding for their research program (active extramural funding is required for candidates for Associate or Full Professor).
- Candidates with expertise and research programs focused on the structural biology and/or function of membrane proteins (e.g., receptors, channels, signaling enzymes) are of particular interest.
- Candidate will synergize with the highly collaborative environment of the Department and the strategic initiatives of the Medical Center's broader research community.
- The successful applicant will receive a generous laboratory space, and access to a wide range of state-of-the-art core facilities.
Qualifications
- PhD and/or MD degree or equivalent.
- At least two years of post-doctoral training
