The Command & Control team is responsible for designing, building, and testing the software, hardware and networking systems that will be used to launch the next generation rocket for NASA. We provide overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the Exploration Ground Systems, Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services programs.
Job Duties:
Provide Hardware Engineering support as part of the Maintenance team tasked with upgrading and sustaining computer equipment, networks, and telemetry equipment.
Tasks include:
Troubleshooting complex ground launch systems
Hardware replacement and upgrades
Drawing updates
Creating and updating job plans and other documentation
Education/Certification/Other Requirement:
BS degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to analyze information, problem solve, and troubleshoot complex systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
Preferred:
Experience designing, documenting, and implementing networks or computer systems
Knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with Cisco, Dell, Extreme, and/or Windows
Experience troubleshooting layer 2/3 network issues (switches, servers, workstations, SAN)
Experienced with creating technical drawings using Microsoft Visio Pro or similar tools
Knowledge of layer 2/3 networks and protocols
Experience using Maximo, Solumina, ClearQuest or similar work control system
