This role will be out of Pennsauken, NJ.

WHAT WE NEED

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day efforts of all aspects of operations at our manufacturing site, to include Operations Performance Managers (OPM's) and Production Supervisors, and affiliated production staff, to assure safe production and distribution of consistently high-quality products. This work needs to be completed in the most efficient manner possible, while ensuring compliance with government regulations in the areas of employee safety, food safety, environmental, and employment practices. Along with the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager and their team of OPM's and shift Supervisors provide the leadership, coaching, and training needed to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of all production and processing employees, across all shifts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide a team structure that promotes alignment, and support among peers on the team.
  • Working in concert with other Operations leaders create an environment that can be flexible to meet the demands of the business; support the retention and development of the team members to deliver a higher level of services and performance.
  • Manage the daily escalations of manufacturing-related issues, to include working cross-functionally with maintenance and other support functions, to drive quick resolutions and root cause problem solving.
  • Align manufacturing priorities with the goals and objectives of the company. Bridge communication gaps by engaging the cross functional leadership team as needed to improve performance.
  • Deliver business results through teamwork and continuous improvement activities. Collaborate with production planning to drive efficiencies and performance across three shift manufacturing operation.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and resolve safety problems in an expedited and efficient manner.
  • Maintain labor absorption and adequate staffing across production and processing teams. Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition at site and at enterprise to continuously evaluate hiring processes and their effectiveness, with keen eye on turnover metrics, employee satisfaction, and development opportunities.
  • Engage with employees at all levels of production, providing improved communication, understanding, and breeding an environment that embraces change and open communication.
  • Support quality related initiatives as required and actively engage in data analysis to drive improvements.
  • Analyze and support capital projects and aid in justification of expenditures. This includes projects to improve current operational efficiencies and future business requirements.
  • Ensure site compliance with GMP's and guides staff to maintain a food-safe operation.
  • Will act as interim Plant Manager in their absence.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these direct and indirect employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred, HS degree required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing people in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of high-volume, high-mix, manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience mentoring and developing staff, supporting workforce development programs, and creating a culture of continuous improvement both in staff and processes.
  • Experience supporting, and ideally implementing, manufacturing excellence systems and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Food and Beverage Manufacturing experience is a Plus
