SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, responsible for the implementation of technical training programs, training administration, and training curriculum development and maintenance supporting business areas within the Company, which may include: Utility Operations, PNM Generation, PNM Electric Operations, Customer Experience and Operations, and other areas as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees implementation of initial technical training, on-the-job training, apprenticeship, technical skills development, NERC Certified System Operator, and other compliance training programs. Responsible for day-to-day execution of program elements, delivery of associated training, and tasks required to ensure programs effectively meet desired outcomes.
Tasks as assigned related to execution of NERC certified system operator training, to include: Compliance with associated NERC standards, verification of Reliability-Related Task performance, support of Energy Imbalance Market operations, management of system operator simulation training, and ongoing NERC accredited training required for system operator NERC Certification maintenance.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in the area of Instructional Design/Training Development/Adult Education or related discipline with five to seven years of applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in the implementation of technical training, or supervision of the performance of those skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Certifications and/or related experience in application of technical training, adult education, apprenticeships, or similar technical skills development programs.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Expertise in use of common database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing applications
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand and/or walk up to 2/3 of the time and sit up to 1/3 of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

- Leads training implementation through direct training delivery, facilitation of delivery by identified subject matter expert(s), and/or coordination of training delivery by internal or external resources.
- Primary resource for the development, delivery, and maintenance of training as assigned, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and employee acquisition and maintenance of technical skills.
- Maintains and coordinates training registration, including creation of courses, classes, and other training sessions in applicable database(s) or learning management systems (LMS).
- Delivers classroom, worksite, and web-based training. Facilitates participation through communication with employees or supervisors, documents training, and maintains training records.
- Researches, analyzes, evaluates training needs and recommends actions, sources, and training methods. Creates training materials or accesses external training resources to meet needs.
- Creates technical training using applied learning theory and instructional design methods. Ensures training development methods result in transfer of learning associated with training objectives designed to address skills and knowledge required to effectively meet desired training outcomes.
- Completes periodic training program and curriculum reviews, reports assessments and implements improvements as directed.
- Evaluates training participant satisfaction and effectiveness of learning, creates evaluation reports for use in program assessment and improvement.
- Identifies, acquires, and maintains required training materials, equipment and resources.
- Responsible for training-related tasks supporting regulatory audits, queries, and compliance verification.
- Maintains applicable certifications and expertise related to topics of assigned training. Serves as technical expert to management, supervision, and training in the areas of assigned expertise
- Keeps abreast of new trends and technology in fields of utility operations and technical training.
- Leads or participates in projects related to planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of technical training programs or activities to address identified business needs.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationship with managers, supervisors, and employees.
