Position Purpose
The Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) division at Renown Health oversees the analytics lifecycle to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive administrative, clinical, and financial decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.
This role will provide strategic oversight, leadership and direction within the EDA division and leads the team(s) responsible for data and technology management to support and enable Renown Health processes including business partnership, data integrity, data acquisition, statistical modeling, reporting, self-service analytics, and applied data science. In addition, the Manager of Data Analytics provides actionable insight on how to deliver the best possible data and analytics customer experience by recommending and implementing enhancements, streamlining processes, implementing quality controls, and proactively monitoring the performance of data and analytics systems/applications. In addition, this role will be responsible for the building of data solutions and processes to enable Master Data Management (MDM), quality controls, and standardization.
Nature and Scope
This role is designed as hybrid.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manages department operations and supervises professional employees.
Mentor and grow a high-performing data science and analytics team that is collaborative, results-oriented and focused on building strategic plans to drive analytic operations.
Develop analytic talent on your team and oversee the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
Partners with engineering and architecture leads to ensure decisions on data and technology direction are made collaboratively.
Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.
Discover opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency with which analytic insights can be delivered. Perform quality assurance of data algorithms and processes.
Serve as a subject matter expert in data and analytics for the department and enterprise.
Effectively leads multifaceted initiatives, tasks, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
Works with stakeholders to identify business opportunities, goals, or objectives.
Determines if objectives can be met using an analytical approach and develops hypothesis.
Leads team to builds custom quantitative models by applying advanced statistical methods such as causal and predictive modeling, forecasting, data mining, simulation, and/or optimization.
Demonstrates the ability to perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and determines need for reformulation.
Demonstrates ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences and mediums.
Partners with stakeholders to implement/automate/operationalize models into day-to-day business decision making.
Incumbent Must Possess:
Demonstrated strong domain knowledge with expertise in payer/provider health analytics and business functions specifically in areas of administrative and clinical operations.
Master's degree in analytics related field, or equivalent experience and achievements preferred. 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
Five plus (5+) years of healthcare domain preferred.
Analytic team management/lead experience.
Demonstrated ability in the application of Lean thinking, continuous improvement, and change management.
Solid understanding on applications of advanced analytics including statistical analysis.
Ability to support the development of analysts for Intermediate/Advanced data visualization, automation, and programming skills (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python, Alteryx)
Experience working with IT partners or automation strategies to deploy production-level analytic solutions.

Experience:
Required 10+ years' experience in analytical role using or leading teams to conduct predictive analytics, advanced statistical techniques, and modeling. 5+ years required in the healthcare industry. Experience using SQL, R, Python, and/or other statistical programming or software to develop analytical solutions and associated visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
