Description:

Gillette Children's is seeking a Spine Surgeon to join our Spine Institute team in providing excellent patient care to children and adults with congenital and neuromuscular spine conditions. Physicians at Gillette have access to innovative medical and surgical technology. State-of-the-art equipment includes intraoperative O-arm with surgical navigation, on-site EOS machines at two different clinical locations, access to 3-D printing for spine models, in-house GAIT lab, in-house custom spinal orthoses with on-site carver technology, and on site, same day advanced imaging (CT and MRI).

Practice Details:
  • Work collaboratively with a team of orthopedic surgeons, including 6 Spine Surgeons, & 3 Spine team APPs who are passionate about patient care.
  • 5-day work week: average 2-clinic days, 2-OR days, and 1-administrative day
  • 2-4 surgeries per week and 18-25 patients per day
  • Shared call of 1:8
  • No spine trauma; focus on scoliosis, congenital and neuromuscular spine conditions, and spondylosis/spondylolisthesis.
  • Academic appointment available: active research and teaching facility and partnership with ranked medical school
  • Strong research infrastructure including a spine specific PhD and 4 clinical research associates.

Pay and Benefits Information:

Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications:

Required:
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Orthopedic Surgery Residency training program and either completion of:
    • Spine Fellowship
      • OR
    • Pediatric Orthopedics Fellowship heavy on spine surgery or with an additional year of Spine Fellowship training.
  • BC/BE with the ABMS or AOA
  • Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges

Preferred:
  • Experienced spine-trained orthopedic surgeon including VCRs and cervical spine.
  • Pediatric orthopedic surgeon with robust spine surgery experience including VCRs and cervical spine.
