Orthodontist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- Diagnostic services through the use of history, radiographs, clinical examination, diagnostic models, and other appropriate tests.
- Full corrective orthodontic treatment of the various classes of malocclusion found among children and adults. This includes the treatment of difficult management cases and institutionalized patients.
- Corrective orthodontic treatment in conjunction with orthogenathic surgery.
- Diagnosis and treatment of congenital abnormalities of the oral regions, e.g., cleft palate, ectodermal dysplasia, various skeletal dysplasia.
- Treatment of cases where occlusion is impaired by trauma or other non-congenital etiology.
- Treatment of cases where orthogenathic defects cause esthetic and psychological problems.
- Treatment of myofunctional problems related to malocclusion e.g., tongue trust, mouth breathing, and adverse oral habits.
- Collaborates with general dentists and other specialists in the treatment of malocclusions involving temporomandibular joint problems.
- Obtain consolation services in other specialty areas as appropriate for cases requiring a team approach.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited residency program in orthodontic dentistry.
- A minimum of three years' experience, including at least one year in a specialty, with previous Client experience strongly preferred.
- Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted dental license in a state of the United States or its territories to practice Orthodontic dentistry.
- Must be credentialed and privileged to provide orthodontic services through the Albuquerque Indian Dental Clinic.
- Must provide three written, verifiable reference letters addressing applicants' reliability and stability, interpersonal interactions, and suitability for working with children and adolescents.
- Must have current Basic Life Support certification.
