Monadnock Community Hospital, located in the beautiful Monadnock region of southern New Hampshire, is searching for a full-time community based Orthopedic Surgeon to join a small but vibrant multispecialty group on the hospital's main campus. The Surgeon will join two established Orthopedic Surgeon teams, non-surgical Physiatry and Chronic Pain Management Specialists. The Surgeon will partner with colleagues trained at prestigious institutions with subspecialty fellowships, all highly regarded in the region.

The Surgeon will be responsible for collaborating and coordinating treatment with multiple Monadnock Community Hospital departments for the delivery of appropriate orthopedic health care services, providing care in a professional, efficient, and ethical manner. This will be done in accordance with the standards and recommendations of CMS, applicable laws and regulations outlined by the state of New Hampshire, and the philosophy of Monadnock Community Hospital.

Responsibilities

Patient Assessment:
  • Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, including interviews, physical examinations, and systems reviews
  • Reviews and interprets clinical data to formulate differential diagnoses and develop treatment plans incorporating diagnostic testing, interventions, and education
  • Notifies patients of results and follows their progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary

Treatment Planning:
  • Make appropriate referrals and adhere to established standards of care and hospital policies
  • Implement and regularly update individualized treatment plans
  • Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team

Inpatient/Emergency Department Services:
  • Participate in call 1:3 24-hour call coverage, including weekends
  • Manage patient care in office, and throughout all hospital associated departments
  • Performs evaluations, consultations and inpatient responsibilities

Documentation of Services:
  • Maintains thorough and timely patient documentation using Electronic Medical Record; completes all documentation within 24 hours of service, locks all notes within 72 hours
  • Adheres to coding and documentation standards

Liaison Functions:
  • Represents the practice in community activities
  • Participates in marketing and educational events to enhance public image
  • Serves on relevant committees

Quality Improvement Participation:
  • Engages in Quality Improvement and Assurance projects
  • Focuses on enhancing and maintaining patient satisfaction

Patient Satisfaction:
  • Demonstrates courtesy, respect, and caring in patient interactions
  • Utilize patient survey feedback for continuous improvement

Office Functions/Billing:
  • Works collaboratively and respectfully with support staff to maximize efficient practice operations
  • Adheres to established policies, procedures, and standards
  • Participates in staff meetings and collaborative care planning

Collaboration:
  • Works with healthcare team members in crafting and following care policies and standards
  • Ensures protection of patient rights and adherence to HIPAA regulations

Education:
  • Participates in developing and evaluating educational programs and services

Scheduling:
  • Manages work hours to fulfill patient care and committee participation duties
  • Meets specific clinical patient contact hour requirements

Credentialing:
  • Submits timely credentialing and re-credentialing information

Location of Services:
  • Provides services at the assigned practice on MCH campus in Peterborough, NH

Policies and Procedures:
  • Follows all relevant policies, including safety and infection control

Secondary Functions:
  • Attends physician and management meetings
  • Maintains State licensure and Board certifications
