Position Overview

The Implementation & Systems Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and continuous improvement of OSS/BSS platforms. This role will support the implementation of new systems, manage integrations, and ensure optimal system performance. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical support, document system changes, and troubleshoot issues to maintain operational efficiency. This position is critical in ensuring system stability, seamless integrations, and improved operational workflows while supporting NOC, Engineering, OSP, and Automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

System Implementation & Administration
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of OSS/BSS platforms
  • Maintain change management processes, including version control, system upgrades, and rollback procedures
  • Manage system security, access controls, and compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor support, system incidents, and service tickets

Integration & Automation Support
  • Support system integrations across network monitoring, provisioning, and automation tools
  • Assist in deploying self-healing mechanisms, provisioning workflows, and automation scripts
  • Work with the Automation Engineer to reduce manual processes and increase efficiency
  • Ensure seamless data flow between OSS/BSS platforms and external systems

Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for system-related issues and outages
  • Assist in training and onboarding for internal teams and external vendors
  • Monitor system health, ensuring 99.99% uptime and rapid incident resolution
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and SOPs

Project Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in scope definition, project planning, and execution of system upgrades.
  • Optimize OSS/BSS workflows to support business goals and improve network performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation.
  • Ensure alignment with IT, Engineering, NOC, and Field Operations for efficient system management.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration, OSS/BSS platforms, or IT operations.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in system administration and network automation tools
  • Experience with system integration, API management, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Knowledge of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Dev-Ops, and reporting tools
  • Preferred: Project Management certifications, such as PMP, CAPM, or Six Sigma

Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in telecom network operations and OSS/BSS workflows
  • Familiarity with automation and CI/CD frameworks (Ansible, Boomi, Itential, DCIM)
  • Hands-on experience with ticketing and ITSM tools (Zendesk)
  • Understanding of transport and ethernet network infrastructure
