Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Specialty: Acute Care Therapy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, generally 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Must-Have: Ability to work 2 to 3 weekends during the assignment period, willingness to work Labor Day if desired
Job Description:
- Provide individualized occupational therapy treatment for patients in acute care and rehab settings.
- Perform evaluations, treatment interventions, team conferences, and utilize modalities if able.
- Conduct computerized charting and have access to UE Bioness and Dynavision.
- Maintain a business casual dress code (no jeans), ensuring modest attire.
- Typically manage a patient volume of 4-5 per day, depending on overall unit volume.
- Ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans for medically complex and often medically unstable patients.
- Evaluate and treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, and general medical disorders.
- Demonstrate ability to manage a high-volume caseload and dynamic scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, facilitate scheduling, and collaborate on discharge planning.
- Supervise certified occupational therapist assistants, aides, and students when providing patient care.
- Complete required orientation program, including specific training for computer documentation and other departmental processes.
- Flexible and problem-solving mindset adapted to roadblocks and fast-paced schedules within multiple hospital areas.
Candidates must function within the scope and standards of occupational therapy practice outlined by legislative and professional bodies.
