We are seeking a talented Business Developer, Project Manager and Client Account Manager that has an Operational Technology (OT) background, based in the northeast region of the US, who wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that is focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive. Your Key Responsibilities
DOING WORK: Project Delivery
- Serve as Project Manager or Project Technical Lead for water OT infrastructure projects including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for new installation and replacement projects for pumping stations, conveyance, wastewater treatment and water treatment facilities.
- Integrate our OT services and solutions into our Program Teams
- Work with Stantec team members to plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget.
- Execute multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
- Work with entry level engineers and Stantec's subject-matter-experts (SME) to perform automation master plans, develop business cases and alternative analysis's, develop data integration schemas, write control system engineering reports, and select OT system design criteria.
- Effectively apply industry standards as well as client standards and requirements.
- Work closely with complementary service lines (e.g., Financial Management, Asset Management, etc.) and other market verticals (e.g., Power, Buildings, etc.)
- Work with project teams that require meetings with clients, contractors, utility companies and governmental agencies.
- Provide clients innovative solutions to problems to meet or exceed their business goals.
- Conduct work in a safe manner and promote health and safety within the office and outside of the office while visiting clients and job sites.
GROWING THE OT BUSINESS: Building the team and mentoring
- Act as an SME on core systems and project experiences. Help grow a strong resource base for the OT Team.
- Support expanding our design teams and extend our offerings into systems integration, startup support and aftermarket services.
- Support the growth of our OT team into other Stantec market verticals.
- Recruit quality new talent and into our leadership teams.
- Act as the OT team's leader for the northeast region.
- Participate in the development and execution of key vendor alliances that generate sales and revenue growth.
WINNING WORK: Support Business Development Activities
- Assist the Business Center Practice Leader and other Client Account Managers with developing new work in the northeast region (and others) by identifying, developing strategy and pursuit plans for new OT projects.
- Lead and assist with proposals and client interviews by preparing the technical and commercial approaches to new work.
- Develop positive relationships with clients earn their confidence and become their trusted adviser.
- Act as an OT strategic account manager for top-tier clients.
- Participate in local and national professional associations. Actively participate by seeking leadership roles in the organization and presenting at conferences.
Qualifications

Leadership:
- Skilled leader and team player capable of building relationships both internally and externally.
- Skilled communicator in both oral and written communications.
- Skilled at building consensus and cooperation with staff at all skill levels.
- Skilled at inspiring, motivating, and holding team accountable for delivery for innovative commercial and technical solutions.
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in developing sales channels, competitive analysis and market research/analysis/segmentation is required.
- Experienced in the design of OT systems specifically for water/wastewater treatment plants, power generation and distribution or related industries.
- SME in at least one of the major control systems manufacturers hardware, software, and network solution.
- Hands-on experience in bespoke programming of PLC/ DCS control, IIoT device implementation, HMI user interfaces and field commissioning is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Control Systems Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water OT related infrastructure design projects.
- Must have good driving record and valid driver's license.
