Job Title P3 Supervising Specialist Location Newport News, VA, US Organization Name Water Quality Work Schedule and Other Information Brief Description Under broad guidance, the P3 Supervising Specialist oversees, plans, coordinates, and schedules P3 activities focused on field operations. Performs duties of a technical nature to meet regulatory requirements related to pretreatment and industrial wastewater intended to protect public health and the sewerage system. The P3 Supervising Specialist acts independently and serves as a technical specialist in specific fields related to source control, such as wastewater facility inspections, permitting, and sampling. Administrative work includes writing of permits, inspection reports, enforcement actions, policies, training aids, and reviewing analytical data. Provides leadership, training, and support to work center staff. This position requires daily interaction with numerous commercial and industrial customers, and the public. Job Requirements
Education
Required
Bachelor's degree in related science or engineering program (e.g., environmental science, biology, chemistry, environmental engineering, chemical engineering).
Experience
Required
Three (3) years of experience in industrial pretreatment programs and/or environmental regulation to include regulatory issues, permit development, inspection, monitoring permit compliance, enforcement and wastewater sampling; or experience interpreting, enforcing, and explaining environmental laws, rules, regulations; or any combination of experience above.
Note: An appropriate advanced degree will be reviewed and may account for one year of experience
Experience working in a team environment and using quality principles and participative management.
Experience in leading teams, overseeing projects, completion of leadership courses, etc.
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
Valid Driver's License from state of residence.
