Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Attending Nurse
Job Specialty: Oncology Nurse
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, No Weekends or Holidays
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience
License: Current RN license or multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Must-Have: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN required within four years of hire
Job Description:
- Provide direct patient care and administer medications.
- Educate patients and families about healthcare management and treatment plans.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families.
- Serve as a professional nurse, assessing, planning, directing, practicing, and evaluating patient care in a designated practice setting.
- Conduct clinical assessments and triage of patient phone calls.
- Collaborate with professional colleagues to coordinate care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Define, implement, and evaluate patients' plans of care.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to facilitate healthcare planning.
- Maintain appropriate communication concerning patient needs, outcomes, and deviations from expected outcomes.
- Assist leadership with evidence-based practice and quality data collection to recommend or initiate improvements.
- Participate in interviewing candidates for vacant positions and provide input for hiring.
- Provide peer review feedback for evaluations.
- Precept, orient, and train new staff members.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities concerning daily operations in the absence of a Supervisor.
- Participate on assigned committees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
