Under the direct supervision of the PACE Assistant Center Manager, the PACE Floor Supervisor manages all operations on the Day Center floor. The primary focus is to ensure optimal operational efficiency and provide comprehensive services to PACE participants, including those requiring companionship during specialty appointments.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Assist in managing daily Day Center operations by assigning tasks to staff to maximize efficiency and deliver a positive experience for participants.
- Maintain a daily log of staff assignments and allocate resources as needed to ensure all services are provided. These services include food preparation, showering, toileting, transportation, Day Center activities, and companionship to specialty appointments.
- Onboard, train, and mentor PCAs and CNAs on SD PACE/SYH's mission, vision, values, Day Center objectives, and workflows.
- Help develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to achieve participant and care team objectives, fostering and efficient and quality-focused environment that meets performance and care quality goals.
- Communicate job expectations to employees, manage performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions, conduct performance evaluations, prepare work schedules, and ensure staff have the necessary resources.
- Monitor the quality care and safety for participants at the Day Center or receiving companionship services.
- Assist Day Center leadership in ensuring program compliance and preparing Corrective Action Plans (CAP) as needed (CMS & DHCS).
- Assists in creating concise reporting and ensures center leadership in ongoingly updated on agreed upon metrics.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and complies with established SYHealth and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Attend required meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
Education Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 1 year working with seniors in an adult day health center setting or related care setting.
- Relevant education or volunteer work may substitute for experience.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Excellent organizational and supervisory skills; ability to manage challenging interpersonal situations.
- Proficiency in computer use and technical writing, including data collection and reporting.
Equipment Used:
- Personal computer, Electronic Health Record System, or computerized system.
- Telephone devices and voicemail.
- At a minimum level have excellent computer literacy including internet navigation and research skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable with constant walking and standing.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
