In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

1. Solution Design and Consulting
  • Analyze Client Requirements: Work with business stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to understand their specific needs related to sales, supply chain, and finance.
  • Design SAP S/4HANA Solutions: Develop, configure, and implement tailored SAP solutions in the IS-OIL domain (such as sales order management, pricing, delivery processing, and invoicing).
  • Industry-Specific Customization: Ensure the system is configured to meet the unique needs of oil and gas processes, such as handling complex pricing models (e.g., spot prices, contract pricing), product transfer, and transportation management.
2. Sales and Pre-Sales Support
  • Business Development: Act as a key member of the sales team to promote SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL solutions to potential clients. This includes presenting the capabilities of SAP IS-OIL in sales meetings and demonstrating its benefits.
  • Pre-Sales Activities: Work with the pre-sales team to develop presentations, proposals, and demonstrations, highlighting how SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL can solve specific challenges faced by oil and gas companies.
3. Implementation and Configuration
  • Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the implementation of SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL solutions. This includes project scoping, resource allocation, and setting up timelines for successful delivery.
  • System Configuration and Customization: Customize the IS-OIL solution to support the specific business requirements of the client. This includes configuring modules related to sales and distribution (SD), pricing, order management, and integration with other modules such as materials management (MM) and finance (FI).
  • Testing: Coordinate testing efforts to ensure the solution meets business requirements and works as intended. This could involve user acceptance testing (UAT) and supporting any fixes or changes during the testing phase.
4. Training and Support
  • User Training: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users, focusing on how to effectively use SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL features related to sales and distribution. This helps users maximize the potential of the system in their daily operations.
  • Post-Go-Live Support: Provide ongoing support after the system has gone live, ensuring smooth operations, troubleshooting issues, and providing system enhancements when required.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other teams, such as finance, procurement, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL solutions across the organization.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors and consultants to integrate additional solutions or third-party tools needed for specific business processes in the oil and gas industry.
6. Continuous Improvement
  • Stay Updated on SAP Innovations: Keep abreast of the latest SAP S/4HANA updates and trends in the oil and gas industry to ensure the solution is leveraging the most current technology and features.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize business processes within the SAP environment, making recommendations for system enhancements and improvements.
7. Documentation and Reporting
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configuration settings, customizations, and processes within SAP IS-OIL for future reference.
  • Reporting: Generate and deliver periodic reports to business stakeholders regarding the performance and progress of SAP S/4HANA implementations or ongoing projects.
8. Problem Solving and Issue Resolution
  • Troubleshooting: Address and resolve any technical issues that arise during the deployment, configuration, or usage of SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL solutions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis of issues and collaborate with the technical team to implement permanent fixes.
9. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: SAP S/4HANA IS-OIL must adhere to industry regulations and standards, such as those governing taxation, product trading, and environmental laws. As such, it's important to ensure that the solution is compliant with relevant laws in different regions.
