As a Packaging Supervisor your job will be to supervise the shift activities in the Packaging Department Operations to ensure effective daily operations to achieve production standards for product quality and quantity.

We deliver consumer-inspired, science-based products and solutions to our consumers worldwide, thanks to the flawless planning and meticulous eye for detail of our Manufacturing & Supply teams. Your job, as Packaging Technician will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of diverse packaging machinery, from slat fillers to thermoformers and cappers. You'll be responsible for the equipment's set-up, cleaning, and maintenance, playing a vital part in our production process.

This is a 2nd shift position. Hours: 2:00pm - 12:30am Monday - Thursday

Main Responsibilities:
  • Recommends approval of new personnel and provides personnel training as directed by department manager.
  • Directs assigned personnel (50 to 100 people which may include material handlers, team leaders, line operators, and packaging technicians) in daily operations.
  • Manage day-to-day labor and supply requirements.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts in the areas of productivity, cGMP compliance, and employee safety.
  • Ensure all employees and equipment are performing in a safe and effective manner. Observe all safety requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct cGMP and safety training as needed for both new and existing employees and contract employees.
  • Must have thorough understanding of manufacturing operations and equipment to properly train personnel as directed by Packaging Manager.
  • Review, update, and create new certification training as needed.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and certified, and that training is documented, and all process areas are adequately covered.
  • Ensure that batch records and instructions are understood by all packaging technicians and are followed accordingly.
  • Supervises hourly personnel and provides assistance in meeting Plant 2 Operations core team objectives.
  • Ensure cooperation by maintaining strong relationships between all support departments (Quality Assurance, Product Supply, Warehousing and Distribution Services, Product Development).
  • Coordinates packaging line changeovers with mechanic supervisor; ensures materials availability for line operations as determined by department schedules.
  • Ensures operations equipment, rooms, and buildings are properly cleaned and maintained in compliance with department operating standards.
  • Coordinates daily scheduling with supporting departments to ensure product availability when needed by department schedule.
  • Recommends personnel disposition, promotions, transfer, disciplinary action, and rate changes to Packaging Manager.
  • Prepares and conducts 1-, 3-, and 6-month reviews with new hires.
  • Prepares and conducts annual performance evaluations with personnel reporting directly to them, this will include a performance improvement plan if necessary.
  • Ability to draft documents required for operation of the business to include proper grammar, accurate math calculations, and clear language that describes and/or directs action.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive employee labor relations utilizing clear communication to team members and thorough problem-solving techniques.


About You

  • Education & Experience: You must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience. Or a two-year technical degree with five (5) years of supervisory experience in Plant Operations Management.
  • Technical Skills: Exposure to various environmental variances within a manufacturing setting.
  • Special Requirements: You must comply with the dress code (uniforms, safety gear), be willing to undergo necessary training, and be able to work in conditions with exposure to dust, grease, and packing machinery hazards.
  • Desired Qualifications: Additional qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma Certification, previous pharmaceutical experience, and familiarity with Production Automation Systems like SAP are desirable.

The salary range for this position is:
$64,125.00 - $106,875.00
