Nemours is seeking a PACS Administrator (Cardiology), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.
Position requires on site presence at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware for the first 90 days followed by ongoing 2-3 days per week depending on customer needs.
The Cardiology PACS Administrator is responsible for overseeing the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems - PACS - and to assist with all related integrated systems within Cardiology. In addition, this individual will act as a liaison for all Cardiology application related initiatives within the department and external to the department.

Nemours is seeking a PACS Administrator (Cardiology), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Cardiology PACS Administrator is responsible for overseeing the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems - PACS - and to assist with all related integrated systems within Cardiology. In addition, this individual will act as a liaison for all Cardiology application related initiatives within the department and external to the department.
- Achieve and maintain one or more application specific certification in accordance with vendor requirements if available.
- Possess solid knowledge of Cardiology workflow including an understanding of how images are acquired and stored in PACS(Echocardiography, Catheterization lab images, EKG and Holter studies)
- Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations of Cardiology PACS and Cardiology applications and related equipment including workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and pre-fetching, quality control of system functionality and hardware, auditing for unread studies and other related activities.
- Utilize project management methodologies to plan, organize, document and communicate project status.
- Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems working closely with department's leadership, physician teams and Imaging Informatics.
- Partners with Imaging Informatics, department leadership and other key stakeholders to identify and design future system enhancements as needed for improved workflow and improved outcomes.
- Analyze system enhancements decisions and modify clinical applications to meet unique requirements of Cardiology and related clinical operations without compromising data or systems integrity.
- Is organized and systematic in their work with the ability to prioritize and simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects across multiple facilities, resolve issues in a timely manner, takes on call and communicate effective solutions.
- Manage interface activities in the advancement of a seamless electronic environment whenever applicable. Including the auditing of billing transactions within the EMR and integrations to ensure successful charge capture.
- Collaborate with external customers to ensure Cardiology services are provided in an optimized, seamless fashion while maintaining strong relationships through exceptional customer service.
- Participates in Imaging Informatics Change Control meetings, a process to ensure that changes to the system are introduced in a controlled and coordinated manner and that the changes are correctly developed and tested across the enterprise. Asks questions and encourages interactions and questions from all other participants to assure process integrity.
- Work with vendor representatives, the organization's clinical community and end users to ensure the system meet the organization's needs. Contributes to the professional development of the Cardiologists and other clinical staff to improve patient care, including overseeing all aspects of user training. Serve as a subject matter expert at project level: serves as mentor at department level.
- Work efficiently with outside hospitals to transfer images to Nemours Cardiology PACS system.
- Works with the Echo Lab and Ambulatory Clinic Manager to maintain efficient IT workflow in clinic (software and hardware for Cardiology related applications).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required or minimum of five (5) or more years related job experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five (5) + years experience required.
- Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) preferred.
- Application specific certifications preferred.
- Strong technology skills, ability to manipulate data, and master multiple databases.
- May need to travel to Nemours sites as requested.
