S.C. Commerce's Marketing and Communications Division is looking for a talented professional to serve as the agency's Partner Relations Manager for the reestablishment of the collaborative, public/private effort called Palmetto Partners and other agency fundraising related to marketing the state for economic development.
The competencies and responsibilities of the Partner Relations Manager are outlined below.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Must be detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines and adjusting to last-minute deadline changes.
Must have strong attention to detail to gather, organize and present program content in a clear, concise, compelling and persuasive manner.
Must be assertive and proactive when engaging stakeholders for requesting and receiving information in a timely manner to meet assigned deadlines.
Must have extensive contacts in the South Carolina business community.
Candidates must have at least three years fundraising experience.
Additional Comments
All candidates must submit at least two examples of relevant work experience including fundraising, member/partner relations and associated performance metrics. Examples must be no more than two years old.

- Plans yearly events and implements annual strategy for attracting potential new partners. Works closely with the Marketing and Communication Division to execute the events and strategies.
- Collaborates and communicates with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve overall partnership program goals, grow partnership engagement, and increase financial support from partners served.
- Coordinates and executes fundraising efforts for large-scale marketing events like SEUS Canada and works with the Marketing and Communications Division to execute those fundraising efforts within the established event timeline.
- Facilitates appropriate budgets, contracts and invoices in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Governor's Office on initiatives related to the Palmetto Partners Program.
- Provides cross-functional support for the marketing and communications division as needed.
