Job Description
The Patient Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the authorization unit. The authorization manages the authorizations for medications, inpatient and outpatient visits. This includes account reviews and pre-reg workflows to ensure the patient is financially cleared for each visit. The position will manage the key stakeholders for the outpatient areas at Jacobi and North Central Bronx Hospitals. The Patient Accounts Manager will manage front end training at both sites with the Assistant Director of Patient Accounts and the Assistant Director of Finance Administration. This includes denial management and monitoring
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related discipline; and 2.Three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or business administration; one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible supervisory or managerial capacity managing accounts or credits.
Department Preferences
Experience with Patient Accounting in Hospital Billing in the Outpatient setting
Strong knowledge of billing and account review or audit experience
Master's degree in public health, Finance, Economics, Public Administration or related field preferred

Job Description

- Analyze and identify trends and deficiencies in accounts, billing process, and related workflows. Make recommendations and implement process changes
- Manage all aspects of outpatient audits and reviews
- Manage all aspects of Accounts Receivable activity; accounts and trial balance reviews to determine areas of opportunity
- Special projects and assignments
Minimum Qualifications
