Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented **Payroll Tax Lead** to oversee and manage complex payroll operations. This role will ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The payroll tax Lead will handle payroll tax issues, support mergers and acquisitions, and mentor team members to drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
#### Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Oversee compliance with all payroll tax regulations, ensuring accurate withholding, depositing, and reporting.
- Manage payroll tax processes for expatriate and in patriate employees, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
- Address and resolve complex payroll issues, including reconciling discrepancies and troubleshooting errors.
#### Mergers & Acquisitions
- Collaborate with the HRIS, benefits, Finance and legal teams to integrate payroll systems and processes during mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure smooth onboarding of acquired employees into payroll systems while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
#### Process Improvement & Leadership
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll tax accuracy and efficiency.
- Mentor and support payroll tax team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Ensure appropriate workload allocation and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Manage 3rd party consultant to drive down costs.
#### Audits & Reporting
- Review and approve payroll tax filings, including 941s, W-2s, and other required reports.
- Prepare special reports for internal and external stakeholders, leveraging payroll data analytics.
- Lead payroll tax audits and provide accurate documentation to auditors.
#### Collaboration & Customer Service
- Partner with HR, legal, expatriate management team and finance teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll tax deductions in a timely manner.
- Maintain high-quality customer service standards for internal and external clients.

Qualifications
#### Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
#### Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll processing, tax compliance, and multi-state payroll operations.
- Experience with ADP full service.
- Experience with ADP smart compliance.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a strong plus.
#### Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of federal, state, local, and international payroll tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP Vantage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to navigate complex payroll tax issues and develop effective solutions.
