Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PCB layouts for motion control products that are suitable for use in demanding industrial and medical environments, ensuring compliance with electrical and mechanical requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to define PCB design specifications.
- Collaborate with EMS/PCBA suppliers to ensure designs meet their guidelines and capabilities and achieve performance, reliability, and cost targets.
- Utilize ECAD software to create schematics and PCB layouts; experience with tools like Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro is preferred.
- Generate fabrication and assembly documentation to facilitate PCB manufacturing.
- Ensure designs adhere to industry standards such as IPC and company-specific guidelines.
- Perform design reviews, simulations, and validation to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving PCB-related issues during development and production.
- Maintain and update PCB design libraries and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design.
- Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
- Proficiency in ERP tools, such as Dynamics 365.
- Strong understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., IPC, UL, CE) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-speed digital and analog circuit design.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and motion control systems and components.
- Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
