Position Summary

This is a temporary bond-funded position. The current PCC Bond is funded through June 30, 2033.

Under the general direction of the Workforce and Contracting Equity Manager, the Jobsite Culture Coordinator takes a lead role in administering the College's Respectful Worksite Programming requirements in the field, on PCC construction projects by actively cultivating access, civility and craftworker retention, and tracking related statistics.

The Jobsite Culture Coordinator maintains a presence on PCC construction projects and acts as a resource for apprentices, journeyworkers, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure worksite culture aligns with agreements established around workforce and contracting access, retention, respect, fairness, safety and success.

The Jobsite Culture Coordinator meets with organized labor and contractors with the goal of increasing craftworker representation, utilization and retention, promoting labor harmony, and ensure compliance with required reporting and programs. This position monitors and enforces project-specific workforce and contracting utilization objectives including the assignment of proper job classifications, apprenticeship utilization goals and the administration of Respectful Worksite Programming such as Green Dot for the Trades or RISE Up for Equity. The Jobsite Culture Coordinator will track workforce utilization data, prioritize the resolution of worker or stakeholder concerns, provide resources that help apprentices succeed and appropriately report related information to the Workforce and Contracting Equity Manager. This position may provide training and facilitate presentations, review workforce data trends, assist with contractual language review, and assist in resolution of barriers to access or success for workers or contractors on the site.

Work is performed independently under specified objectives and applies knowledge in accordance with College and State statutory requirements.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of onsite experience with the functioning of commercial construction sites including safety protocols, the interrelatedness of the construction trades, the hierarchy of onsite leadership, interpreting construction schedules and documents, communication expectations, and PPE mandates
  • Two (2) years of experience addressing the systematic disenfranchisement of women and people of color in the construction industry; Including knowledge of and experience in supporting discrimination and harassment free interactions with the public and employees


These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

  • Comfortability initiating and leading group meetings on construction jobsites and in meetings with regional stakeholders such as organized labor leaders and leaders from community-based organizations
  • Deep familiarity with the apprenticeship model, organized labor, dispatch rules, apprenticeship programs, out of work lists, Master Labor Agreements, prevailing wage rates, and demonstrated relationships with local trade organizations or workforce equity initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated experience exhibiting cultural humility, diplomacy, tact, positivity, and optimism even through challenging topics or disagreement
  • Experience participating in courageous or difficult conversations respectfully that encourages collaboration not alienation. Comfort with public speaking and engaging thoughtfully/knowledgably with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or expertise in how worker bullying, harassment, hazing, exclusion, and isolation occurs on construction projects and disproportionately impacts women and people of color. Expertise in best-practices for bystander intervention to interrupt problematic behaviors and stand as an ally with those impacted

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $75,965 and $78,242 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a standard oce environment. Exposure to computers occurs daily. Occasional travel to job sites and partner meetings.
