Our People Operations team is dedicated to creating an exceptional employee experience. We're passionate about streamlining HR processes, leveraging technology, and fostering a culture of support and growth. We're looking for a People Operations Generalist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and enhancing the overall employee journey.

About the Role

As a People Operations Generalist, you'll be an integral part of our People Operations team, contributing to a wide range of HR functions. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes, managing benefits and compliance, providing exceptional employee support, and leveraging technology to streamline HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about HR, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to make a positive impact on the employee experience.

Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including COBRA processing, STD & LTD claims, LOA management, and 401k administration.
  • Compliance Management: Lead annual compliance calendar and task management, ensuring compliance hygiene, and handle Workers Compensation claims.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the lead agent on our PeopleOps Service Desk and provide general employee support.
  • HRIS & Tech Management: Oversee ADP and BambooHR platforms, resolve system issues, and manage integrations.
  • HR Operations: Lead employee records management, background verifications, and support benefits training initiatives and data analysis.
  • Policy & Documentation: Assist with creating and updating employee policies and handbooks, support policy creation, and manage document migration.
  • Leave Administration: Administer leave of absence programs and process employee leave requests.
  • Legal & Compliance: Manage employee agreements and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Strategic Initiatives Support: Support various projects in partnership with Talent & Culture Strategic Initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Experience working with a company 500+ employees, including non-exempt and workforce
  • Experience working various HR people support systems (BambooHR, ADP, Navia, Vida Cobra, Tilt, Fidelity, Sequoia Carta)
  • Experience working in G-Suite, Slack, Jira, Okta

Skills
  • HR Data Management: Experience managing and maintaining HR databases, ensuring accurate employee records and data integrity
  • HRIS/HRMS Proficiency: Strong skills in working with HR Information Systems (e.g., BambooHR, ADP, UKG) to input, track, and analyze employee data
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Accurate and efficient entry of employee information, and generating reports on workforce metrics, such as turnover, attendance, and compliance
  • Database Querying: Ability to query and retrieve specific employee information from databases for compliance, audits, and decision-making purposes
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in documentation, compliance, and data reporting
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve processes
  • Verbal and Written Communication: Clear, concise communication across all levels of the organization
  • Empathy and Active Listening: Ability to understand and address employee concerns
  • Time Management: Handling multiple priorities, managing HR initiatives, and meeting deadlines

Nice to have
  • Multi-state and international experience
  • Experience working with contract populations
  • Experience with/knowledge of AI systems and their use in conjunction with HR functions

Location

This position is classified as HYBRID within the Greater Oakland Area. with an expectation to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly.

Compensation

$76,500 - $103,500 range on annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.

Pay Transparency

Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only part of our total compensation package.
