Performance Engineer - Onsite

Job Description:
As a Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing performance engineering processes, policies, and standards. You will conduct performance assessments, analyze results, and identify system bottlenecks to enhance scalability, stability, and overall system efficiency. This role requires expertise in performance testing, monitoring tools, and system architecture, ensuring the reliability of both on-premises and cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement performance engineering processes, policies, and standards
• Design and execute performance, scalability, stability, and stress tests using industry-standard tools
• Analyze performance results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure performance considerations are integrated early in the lifecycle
• Build or configure tools to conduct automated performance and reliability testing
• Identify and resolve performance issues across server subsystems, including CPU, memory, threads, and I/O
• Utilize performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter/Blazemeter, Splunk, AppDynamics, and ThousandEyes
• Work with test data setup tools like K2View (preferred)
• Maintain a strong architectural understanding of large-scale system development with a focus on performance
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Proven experience in performance engineering, including process and policy development
• Strong expertise in performance testing and monitoring tools (e.g., JMeter/Blazemeter, Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes)
• Hands-on experience designing and executing automated performance, stability, scalability, and reliability tests
• In-depth knowledge of system architecture, operating systems, databases, and programming languages
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot performance issues related to server subsystems
• Experience with cloud-based and on-premises application performance validation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with test data setup tools like K2View (preferred)

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
