Perfusionist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- Provide perfusion services in line with ABCP, TJC, and AHA standards.
- Maintain quality of care meeting or exceeding recognized national standards.
- Assist the Cardio-Thoracic surgical team with bypass surgeries, valve replacements, and other cardiac procedures.
- Operate and monitor heart-lung machines, ensuring proper extracorporeal circulation and patient stability.
- Prepare and manage VA-owned cardiovascular support equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps and ventricular assist devices.
- Ensure sterile technique and a safe operating environment.
Perfusionist - REQUIREMENTS
- Must be board-certified through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
- Graduated from an accredited Allied Health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology.
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Must have certification in Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 5 years with at least 750 clinical cases.
