UPMC St. Margaret is hiring a full-time Night Shift Pharmacist to support our Inpatient Pharmacy. This position will work 7 shifts on during the night shift (8:45 PM -07:00 AM), and 7 shifts off. The 7-day stretch starts and ends on Wednesday. Holidays are worked if they fall during the scheduled work week. You will have two weekends off per month. On-site parking available.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient treatment.
- Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
- Maintain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy.
- Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
- Organize daily operations and supervise pharmacy technicians, aides, interns, and other personnel.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality management policies.
- Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear orders.
- Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
- Utilize computer systems and technologies in pharmaceutical care.
- Fill prescription orders in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using an aseptic technique.
- Core specialized and site-specific duties can be added as needed.
Qualifications:
Pharmacist Specialist:
- Starting rate $52.08
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
- B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Required: Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a specialized area of pharmacy operations/services required
- Relevant training/certification in a specialized area of pharmacy operations/services preferred*
- Pharmacist specialists support pharmacy operations in specialized roles.
- Current pharmacist specialist positions include but are not limited to informatics, IT, inventory, research, medication safety, regulatory, quality, and medication therapy management
Pharmacist requirements:
- Starting rate $49.54
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
- B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Required: Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state
- Entry Level - no previous experience required; pharmacist experience preferred.
