Job Description:

Finney's Institutional Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist to join our team. As a vital part of our Pharmacy team, you will be responsible providing pharmaceutical care in a non-retail environment, focusing on medication management for patients in long-term care facilities, home health, or specialty pharmacy settings. This role involves preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Pharmacy's Trusted Partner approach to delivering Improved Health Outcomes.
• Assess the identity, strength and accuracy of prescriptions using Drug Utilization Reviews applicable to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized medical practitioners.
• Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
• Monitor patient compliance and adherence using compliance packaging to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
• Plan, implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals to ensure quality, security and proper disposal, according to policy and legal requirements.
• Support team members to ensure timely delivery of medications
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist License from the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy
• Framework and Docutrak Experience preferred but not required
• Experience serving Long Term Care, Supported Living and Independent Living Facilities and Patients is a plus
• Eagerness to Participate in Innovative Change, Continuous Improvement, Open Communication and Sharing of Optimized Solutions and Best Practices

Working Conditions:

• 8-hour working hours: Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with additional time as required based on daily workloads.
• Alternating Saturday shifts are also required to support customers and production schedules from 8AM-2PM.
• Participation in the on-call rotation is voluntary, with incentive pay provided.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires standing for extended periods of time.
• Heavy lifting is not required, but should be able to lift up to 10lbs.
• Operating a desktop keyboard and mouse.
• Communicating with employees, patients, caregivers, and physicians by phone, fax, and email in a courteous and professional manner.
