This role ensures that Service Members (SMs) receive safe, effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care in support of Mobilization/Demobilization (MOB/DEMOB) and overall military health readiness.

This role ensures that Service Members (SMs) receive safe, effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care in support of Mobilization/Demobilization (MOB/DEMOB) and overall military health readiness.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and participate in ambulatory care pharmacy practice and outpatient pharmacy services.
- Dispense medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assess patient response to drug therapy, plan treatment based on physician-established diagnoses, and provide drug therapy management.
- Order and assess laboratory tests necessary for evaluating drug therapy outcomes.
- Analyze medication trends to ensure cost-effective and appropriate drug therapy management.
- Modify dosages or significantly alter drug regimens without prior physician approval, subject to post-action reviews.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to designated clinics, including patient education, therapeutic drug monitoring, and drug therapy consultations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of clinical pharmacy services, including economic impact reports.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including drug utilization evaluations and pharmacist impact assessments.
- Utilize telecommunications and information technologies for consultations and health-related education.
- Complete and appropriately close each patient encounter at the end of the day.
- Provide pharmaceutical services for deployment and redeployment operations, as well as support general military health readiness.
- Adhere to all government and professional clinical standards, including licensure, credentialing, and quality assurance requirements.
- Comply with health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations as mandated.
- Complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
- Accurately record work hours in the Defense Medical Human Resources System - Internet (DMHRSi) or other required systems.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited college or university.
- Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency or fellowship accredited by ASHP or ACCP, or documentation of equivalent education, training, or CME in clinical pharmacy.
- Minimum 1 year of post-graduate experience as a clinical pharmacist within the last 3 years.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, maintained in current status.
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
