The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER PHARMACY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a PHARMACY MANAGER - INPATIENT PHARMACY SERVICES.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time / 40 hours per week
Rotating/Variable Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
This position is responsible for implementation and ongoing evaluation of the clinical services provided by the inpatient pharmacy.
Function as a working leader in providing direct supervision for the inpatient clinical pharmacists.
Perform specific leadership functions to clinical services related to clinical practice, education and standards of pharmaceutical care such as recommending appropriate pharmaceutical prescribing, influencing standards of therapy, and developing the pharmacy component of a clinical service.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the daily activities of the inpatient clinical pharmacists.
Develop and maintain practice standards for inpatient clinical pharmacist services.
Develop and maintain indices of clinical competence for inpatient clinical pharmacists.
Recruit clinical pharmacists for the inpatient pharmacy in coordination with the Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Manager.
Ensure new pharmacists are appropriately oriented and trained in coordination with the Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Manager.
Oversee scheduling of inpatient pharmacists, directing the work of the Lead Scheduler.
Participate in department and organizational quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with strategic planning for drug shortages with pharmacy purchasing staff and the Inpatient Operations Manager and communicate plans to all clinical staff as appropriate.

Recommends appropriate pharmaceutical prescribing based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature, safety, efficacy and cost.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Washington.
Graduate degree in pharmacy and an ASHP-accredited Residency are preferred.
Three to five years of experience as a clinical pharmacist.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in the area of hospital pharmacy.
