In this role as a part of the product engineering team you will be focused on High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) testing, developing novel wafer and package level testing strategies of Lightmatter's Silicon Photonics products. You will also help in setting up validation capabilities and carrying out validation tests. You will be expected to support customer deployment and related technical issues.

You will also help in setting up validation capabilities and carrying out validation tests. You will be expected to support customer deployment and related technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with architecture, design, product engineering, and customers to understand the test needs.
- Create test plan documentation, feasibility analysis, and provide feedback early on during the design phase.
- Define, develop, and setup of wafer and package level tests for Lightmatter silicon photonics products.
- Develop test software to enable test execution, data analysis, and parameter extraction.
- Work with vendors to specify and procure test equipment
- Setup and operate a range of optical equipment such as lasers, DCA, BERT, OBR/OVA, and switches.
- Engage with silicon and platform validation teams and bridge any gaps between the test and validation teams.
- Help enable reliability teams for pre and post stress test needs
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in Silicon Photonics technology and testability
Requirements:
- Master's in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of proven experience in silicon photonics test development including wafer level test experience.
- Understanding of photonic integrated components and circuits
- Hands on lab experience in optoelectronics testing of photonics chips, components, and devices
- Experience working with design teams to define test cells for model feedback and validation
- Experience working with test equipment including lasers, VNA, switches, spectrum analyzers, high speed oscilloscopes (DCA), BERT, source-meter units, or OBR etc.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and solve issues during the testing process
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D in photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3 years of silicon photonics test development including wafer level test experience
- System level validation experience of silicon photonics products
