Pay Range
$109,400.00-$150,400.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Position Overview
The purpose of the Physical Distribution Managers /Quality Manager role is to oversee, manage and maintain overall distribution activity including, inventory control, warehousing and transportation for a single manufacturing facility and two external distribution centers with multiple lines/markets. The Physical Distribution Manager/Quality Manager is responsible for import export shipping and receiving, inventory management, sales of waste and off quality materials, warehousing activities and monthly and quarterly distribution reporting. Responsible for leading salary and hourly physical distribution / quality employees, quality assurance documentation, support, ISO program, analysis and reports that are necessary to assess progress against goals and to enable data driven decisions. The position is responsible for actively participating on the plant leadership team, which includes responsibilities in safety, management of change, community events, employee activities and continuous improvement activities.

Your Day-to-Day:
- Ensure effective and efficient production planning scheduling and inventory management; conduct analyses of inventory levels and coordinate with production and SIOP teams.
- Maintain inventory levels that are optimum in support of on time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and transportation penalties
- Oversee inventories to ensure obsolete and phased out materials are used or disposed of in the most safe and economical way.
- Guarantee customer satisfaction by delivering the correct product at the right time
- Provide leadership and supervision to the warehouse team
- Manage internal external warehouse operating procedures, space utilization, maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment and inbound outbound logistical operations
- Prepare required monthly and quarterly distribution reporting
- Work partner with Plant Leadership Team to achieve business goals
- Work closely with inside Sales and Marketing and divisional SIOP team to develop accurate forecasts
- Collaborate with Production Managers, Engineers and the Commercial Team to develop and implement corrective actions on quality issues and complaints.
- Evaluate data of key product quality parameters to assess compliance to specifications, analyze trends for process aim and dispersion, and identify improvement opportunities before they cause issues with customers
- Support activities related to maintaining a QMS that is both ISO 9001 - 2015 & 14001 certified
- Maintain and update quality documentation, including retrieval, access, control, and distribution for approvals
- Generate and distribute quality management reports that provide information and analysis related to customer complaints and other operating metrics as requested by business leaders and the quality leader
- Conduct quality related audits (e.g. inspection plans documented in SAP vs. official documents, plant compliance and supplier compliance to specifications)
- Facilitate resolutions between plants and customer service when discrepancies are identified that relate to plant assignments of customer claims
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve productivity (e.g. automation) related to repetitive activities involving quality reporting
- Manage and control total budgeted spending in the Physical Distribution and Quality areas
- Ensure Plant safety compliance and championing safe work practices
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years work experience in warehouse management and supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and similar experience will be considered.
- Expert knowledge of warehouse inventory management
- Basic knowledge of MSDS product requirements
- Basic knowledge of import export rules and regulations
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- Solid leadership skills
- Basic Information Technology systems knowledge
- Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Manages a staff of four Supervisors, three warehouse and one Quality. Sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and terminating.
- Moderate travel required 11-29 days per year
- Work environment is typical of an office setting. When in the plant or warehouse, may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
- May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds
