Overview

  • Coordinates with Site Medical to establish the schedule for annual physicals and communicates the appointment times with protective force management and the protective force members. Schedules the Fitness Assessments and ensures protective force management and the protective force employee receive the schedule.
  • Screens and schedules employees for stress tests in accordance with 10 CFR 1046 and Centerra-SRS procedures. Ensures all appointments and schedules are completed in the required and specified time limits. Maintains communication with Site Medical and applicable offsite providers, ensuring ongoing, successful programs.
  • Provides instructions to include demonstrations, exercises, and briefings for the protective force in order to minimize injuries and improve fitness levels.
  • Oversees the use of fitness equipment to ensure protective force exercise properly and safely. Overseas cleanliness and maintenance of all gym equipment.
  • Coordinates with the Training Division on group fitness training sessions as applicable. Tracks overall fitness levels and health and provides charts/graphs to the Health and Fitness Department Manager.
  • Coordinates with the Occupational Safety and Health Department to analyze hazards and establish risk assessments to ensure compliance with all DOE and Centerra-SRS safety policies and procedures. Participates in Employee Safety and Health Committee meetings, providing fitness topics when requested.
  • Maintains Health and Fitness Department procedures. Ensures all materials are current and relevant. Conducts surveillances and assessments as directed by the Health and Fitness Department manager.
  • Oversees the Centerra Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program. Ensures operability checks and inventories are accurate. Coordinates the AED program and the use of the AEDs with all Site Medical Director. Maintains the records of maintenance and testing of AEDs.
  • Tracks overall fitness levels and health and provides charts/graphs to the HFD Manager.
  • Coordinates with the Occupational Safety and Health Department to analyze hazards and establish risk assessments to ensure compliance with all DOE and Centerra-SRS safety policies and procedures.
  • Conducts chemical inventories for the HFD and serves as the Chemical Coordinator. Participates in Employee Safety and Health Committee meetings, providing fitness topics when requested.
  • Maintains HFD procedures and intranet page to ensure all materials are current and relevant.
  • Conducts surveillances and assessments as directed by the HFD Manager.
  • Oversees the Centerra Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Program to ensure operability checks and inventories are accurate. Coordinates the AED program and the use of AEDs with the Site Medical Director. Maintains the records of maintenance and testing of AEDs.
  • Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.


  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities & Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or other physical fitness field.
  • Two years of experience developing and conducting physical fitness training.
  • Must obtain and maintain American College of Sports Medicine certification
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" Clearance.
