Job Title: Physical Therapist

Job Specialty: Pediatric Neurodevelopment

Job Duration: 14 weeks

Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM-11:00 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years in neurodevelopmental pediatrics; experience with infants and babies with torticollis preferred

License: PT - Physical Therapist State License

Certifications: None specified

Must-Have: Pediatric patient care experience

Job Description:
- Plan, evaluate, organize, and implement Physical Therapy treatment programs for patients from neonate to adulthood.
- Complete patient evaluations and reassessments according to hospital and department guidelines.
- Develop an individualized plan of care based on evaluation/reassessment findings, in collaboration with the patient and family, to create measurable long- and short-term goals.
- Perform patient care and related activities within the scope of your training and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical competencies in the area of specialty.
- Manage schedule effectively to maintain productivity expectations per departmental guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing communication and collaboration with other members of the patient's interdisciplinary care team.
- Coordinate treatment plans with all parties involved in the patient's care.
- Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and recommend appropriate adaptive equipment.
- Design and fabricate orthotic equipment/supplies and make recommendations on customized adaptive equipment.
- Recommend termination of treatment when appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, team leaders, department staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote quality patient care.
- Automatically analyze the clinical situation, evaluate priorities, and consciously apply clinical rules and principles.
- Demonstrate articulate, courteous, and supportive interactions with hospital, administrative, and departmental personnel, patients, and parents, while honoring confidentiality.
- Independently treat patients by developing and following the established therapy plan of care.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and utilize basic office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and PCs.
