Physician - General Radiologist (M60553)

Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create aworld-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment,providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging andtherapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with avision to create a department that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.

Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University,Medical College of Virginia is currently seeking applicants for one full-timefaculty position in the Division of Diagnostic Radiology.

Position Responsibilities:

• Teaching - Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows, who rotate through the Department of Radiology.

• Research - Continue to promote professional relationships with other clinical departments to foster interdisciplinary research.

• Service - Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school and departmental committee work, professional growth and other such assignments.
• Clinical - Provide high quality, sub-specialized imaging interpretations and clinical care as well as perform high quality, state of the art image-guided procedures in support of the referring physicians and patients of VCUHS.

Required Qualifications:

• ABR certification or documentation of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination;
• Experience as a general diagnostic radiologist in a high-volume radiology department.

• Candidates must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU;
• Candidates must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure;

• and be eligible for permanent employment in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging, Emergency Radiology, Neuroradiology or MSK.
