Sanford Clinic is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist to join a rapidly growing practice.
2 MFM physicians, 1 MFM advanced practice provider
Consultation only practice-inpatient/outpatient
8 OB/GYN Physicians and 4 advanced practice providers
AUIM ultrasound accredidation for fetal imaging and echocardiogram
Dedicated sonographers and genetic counselors
24/7 labor hospitalist model staffed by general OB/GYN's
26 bed Level III NICU with over 1700 births
In-house Pediatric Cardiology, Urology and Neurosurgery
Pediatric visiting specialties include neuro, GI, nephrology ,endo and rheum

Job Description
Maternal and Fetal Medicine Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, provide consultation and treat adolescent and adult female patients with a multiple gestation pregnancy (3 or more) and medical and surgical complications of pregnancy, such as maternal cardiac, pulmonary, metabolic, and connective tissue disorders, and fetal malformations, conditions, or disease.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.
Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways:
An applicant who has just completed fellowship shall provide his/her fellowship logs.
OR
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications. Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the past 24 months including the management of 25 deliveries or procedures (examples amniocentesis, c-sections) with satisfactory quality data as measured by the hospital's defined quality review system.
OR
If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the past 24 months including the management of 25 deliveries or procedures (examples amniocentesis, C-sections) with satisfactory quality data as measured by the hospital's defined quality review system.
More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program and Fellowship program in Maternal-Fetal Medicine accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. The Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors may consider training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above.
Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions)
