Description:
We are currently looking for a Full Time Physician to join our Office of Under Secretary of Tribal Health team located at the Sovereign Family Practice Clinic - Ada working .
Summary:
This position is located within the Office of Tribal Health at one of the Employee Health Clinics. The purpose of this position is to provide general and specialty care dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages. This position may require scheduled duty on days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and callbacks.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain and promote professionalism and is courteous to patients, staff and visitors.
* Maintain confidentiality, security and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA .
* Oversees and coordinates the preparation and disposition of timely and accurate transcription and filing of medical treatment documentation.
* Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
* Attend majority of department meetings or obtains minutes and assumes responsibility for the information given.
* Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
* Recruiting, interviewing and hiring new staff.
* Facilitate the orientation of new staff.
* Exhibit prompt arrival to duty station as well as follows employee code book for time and attendance.
* Adheres to the clinic policies and procedures.
* Serves on committees and performance improvement teams as assigned.
* Participates in continuing medical education as required by the Oklahoma Board of Licensure.
* Responsible for continuity of care of family medicine and provides timely requests for schedule changes, vacation, sick leave and continuing medical education leave to the Executive Officer of Medical Services.
* May serve as "on-call" physician for family practice patients and providers, day and/or night.
* Serves as a consultant to other providers in the Employee Health Clinics or other Tribal Health operations.
* Provides comprehensive medical services in family practice clinics, including diagnosis, physical examinations and determining appropriate therapy of patients based on diagnosis and prognosis of the patient's condition.
* Manages therapeutic programs, conveys information to family members during treatment, and supports patients and family members and timely maintenance of adequate records detailing these activities.
* Adheres to Oklahoma State Board of Licensure rules for sponsorship of mid-level providers.
