Summary

MaineHealth Cardiology is currently seeking an Electrophysiologist to join their practice in the greater Portland, Maine area. The preferred candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease with advanced training in Electrophysiology.

Maine Medical Center (MMC) is a high-volume tertiary referral center for northern New England with EP programs focused on atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia's, ventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions, genetic arrhythmic conditions, left atrial appendage occlusion. MMC also specializes in the care of patients with complex cardiac rhythm device conditions such as physiologic pacing, device malfunctions, leads, infected devices, and extraction of leads and devices. Through several EP lab efficiency programs our 8 physician EP team has grown case volumes dramatically over the last 5 years to serve our patients need. Therefore, the MaineHealth EP team performs the highest volume of EP procedures in Northern New England. Our multidisciplinary teams include Advanced Heart Failure, Advanced Cardiac Imaging, Coronary and Structural Intervention, Cardiovascular Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease.

Long recognized as a leader in cardiac care, Maine Medical Center remains on the forefront of today's most advanced treatments and procedures. Maine Medical Center's Cardiovascular Service Line has been recognized as one of the top 100 programs in the United States. We are pleased to share that the hospital is in the process of building a five-story patient care tower dedicated to cardiovascular excellence. It will be home to 19 new procedure rooms, including several hybrid ORs, as well as 64 new private patient rooms. Construction is well underway and the building is scheduled to open in 2024.

MaineHealth Cardiology is a growing practice of over 70 cardiologists with practice locations in Augusta, Lewiston, Rockport, Scarborough, and Waterville. This fully integrated faculty practice works closely with Maine Medical Center and other regional hospitals to provide a coordinated network of care for the state of Maine and eastern New Hampshire.

Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds and is the state's leading tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center with a full complement of residencies and fellowships. The position involves a direct teaching role within our Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship as well as mentoring medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program (Tufts-Maine Track). The candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
